  • Bring 1 cup of water to a boil. Remove from heat and whisk in the lime gelatin until fully dissolved.
  • Add Alcohol
  • Stir in the vodka and ½ cup cold water. Mix thoroughly.
  • If you want a brighter green color, add a few drops of food coloring.
  • Pour Into Cups
  • Carefully pour the mixture into small plastic shot cups or silicone molds, filling about ¾ full.
  • Chill
  • Refrigerate for 2–4 hours, or until fully set.
  • Garnish & Serve
  • Top with whipped cream, lime slices, or candy before serving. Serve chilled.

Notes

Alcohol Adjustments
  • Standard ratio: 1 cup vodka keeps the shots firm but smooth.
  • For slightly stronger shots, increase vodka by 2–3 tablespoons (do not exceed 1¼ cups total liquid replacement or texture may soften).
  • For a lighter version, reduce vodka and replace with cold water.
Non-Alcoholic Version
Replace vodka with:
  • Cold water
  • Lemon-lime soda (adds extra sweetness)
  • Sparkling water for a lighter finish
Setting Tips
  • Make sure the gelatin is fully dissolved before adding alcohol.
  • Do not add alcohol while the water is boiling this helps maintain proper texture.
  • Chill at least 2 hours; 4 hours is ideal for firm shots.
Make-Ahead & Storage
  • Store covered in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
  • Add garnishes just before serving.
  • Do not freeze texture will become watery when thawed.
For Easy Removal from Molds
If using silicone molds instead of cups:
  • Lightly spray molds with non-stick spray.
  • Dip bottom of mold briefly in warm water before unmolding.
Responsible Serving Reminder
Jello shots can be deceptively easy to consume. Serve with food and water, and encourage guests to enjoy responsibly.
