Pulled Pork Crockpot Recipe

This easy crockpot pulled pork is juicy, flavorful, and slow-cooked to perfection. Ideal for sandwiches, tacos, or feeding a crowd!

Two forks (for shredding)
- 4-5 lbs pork should or pork butt
- 1 large onion sliced
- 3 garlic cloves minced
- 1 tablespoon paprika
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/3 cup apple cider vinegar
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1 cup BBQ sauce plus more for serving
- 1/2 cup water or chicken broth
Prep the pork: Trim any large pieces of fat from the pork shoulder. Pat dry with paper towels.
Layer the base: Place sliced onion and garlic in the bottom of the crockpot.
Add the pork: Set the pork shoulder on top of the onions.
Season: In a small bowl, mix paprika, salt, pepper, and onion powder. Rub all over the pork.
Add liquids: Pour apple cider vinegar, water (or broth), and sprinkle brown sugar over the pork.
Cook: Cover and cook on LOW for 8 hours or HIGH for 5 hours, until the pork is tender and easily shreds with a fork.
Shred: Remove pork and shred with two forks. Discard any large fatty bits.
Sauce it up: Return shredded pork to the crockpot, stir in BBQ sauce, and let it warm for 10–15 minutes before serving.
Serve: Pile onto buns, over rice, or into tacos don’t forget extra sauce!
