ByMichelle Updated onJuly 8, 2025
Jump to Recipe - Print Recipe

If you’ve never tried Brazilian limeade, you’re in for a treat. This vibrant, creamy citrus drink is bold, tart, sweet, and just a little bit indulgent thanks to a splash of sweetened condensed milk. It’s blended fresh (peels and all!), strained, and served over ice.

I first had this at a summer cookout and couldn’t stop sipping it’s wildly refreshing and so fun to make. Perfect for hot afternoons, backyard BBQs, or anytime you need something that tastes like a mini vacation.

Make It Boozy or Not

  • Alcoholic: Add 1–1.5 oz of vodka, white rum, or cachaça per serving.
  • Non-Alcoholic: This one’s naturally booze-free and absolutely perfect on its own!

  • Serve in mini shot glasses at baby showers or backyard brunches
  • Layer with blended strawberries for a Brazilian-inspired mocktail float
  • Pour over shaved ice for an icy treat kids adore

Top Tips

  • Don’t over-blend the lime peel can become bitter
  • Use thin-skinned limes for the best flavor
  • Add more sugar or condensed milk to suit your taste
  • For a dairy-free version, use coconut condensed milk
  • How to scale for 6–8 people. Blend in two batches and mix in condensed milk (right before serving)

Recipe Variations

  • Frozen Version: Freeze leftover limeade into popsicle molds for creamy citrus pops everyone will love or blend the strained mixture with extra ice for a frozen limeade slush!
  • Spiked Version: Add a splash of rum or vodka for a grown-up twist.
  • Minty Limeade: Blend in a few mint leaves for a mojito-like refresh.
  • Flavor Twist: Add mint or basil for an herbal note. Stir in passionfruit or mango juice for a tropical spin. Use sparkling water instead of still for a fizzy take.
