Spinach and Feta Skillet Quiche

Jump to Recipe - Print Recipe

There’s something magical about pulling a golden, fluffy quiche straight from a sizzling cast iron skillet. This spinach and feta skillet quiche is one of those recipes that’s both impressive and incredibly easy.

You’ll love how fresh spinach, tangy feta, and buttery eggs come together for a dish that’s perfect for brunch, lunch, or even a light dinner. Plus, no crust needed (unless you want to make it even heartier)! It’s a family favorite in our home, and the kids especially love helping sprinkle the feta on top before it bakes.

Why You’ll Love This Quiche

This skillet quiche is a dream for busy families! It’s quick, kid-friendly, and packed with nutritious spinach and satisfying feta. You don’t need a fancy crust or special skills to whip it up, making it ideal for beginners and seasoned cooks.

Simple Ingredients

Here’s the beauty of this recipe: just a few wholesome ingredients you likely already have!

  • Eggs: The rich, creamy base that holds everything together.
  • Milk: Adds a lightness to the eggs, making the quiche fluffy.
  • Baby Spinach: Gives the quiche a fresh, slightly earthy flavor and a nutrient boost.
  • Feta Cheese: Brings a salty, tangy bite that pairs perfectly with spinach.
  • Red Onion: Adds a gentle sweetness and a pop of color.
  • Olive Oil: Used for sautéing the onions to soften their flavor.
  • Salt & Pepper: Essential seasonings to bring everything to life.
  • Optional Pie Crust: For those who prefer a heartier, more traditional.

  • Cook Time: 30 minutes
  • Total Time: 40 minutes

What is Needed

  • 6 eggs
  • ½ cup milk
  • 1 cup baby spinach, chopped
  • ½ cup crumbled feta
  • ½ small red onion, finely chopped
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • (Optional) 1 store-bought pie crust

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C/350°F.
  2. Heat olive oil in a skillet and sauté the onions until soft.
  3. Whisk eggs, milk, salt, and pepper in a bowl. Stir in spinach and feta.

Top Tips

  • Let kids sprinkle extra feta on top before baking for a fun and cheesy experience.
  • Use pre-washed baby spinach to save time.
  • Allow the quiche to cool for 5-10 minutes to set before slicing for neater wedges.
  • Use a well-seasoned skillet to prevent sticking.
  • You can double the recipe and bake in a larger skillet for a bigger group!
