Find Out Where Cookware is Made
Finding the location of a product’s manufacturing can be challenging. But it is not impossible! Below are a few tips to help you locate the exact factory where a given item was made.
Start With the Company Website
Most larger companies will list their locations on their corporate websites. Many specialized manufacturers make this information publicly available within their product listings. The above Le Creuset product listing for Le Creuset’s Signature 5.5-quart enamel cast iron Dutch oven clearly states that the cast iron is made in France.
Labels and Tags
Look for locally-made labels or tags on the product itself or on its packaging. Such as in Italy, France, the United States, Canada, Mexico, etc. This may make it easier to find out where a product was made based on its country of origin.
Embossing
Many manufacturers choose to list where the product was made directly onto the item itself.
Contact the Manufacturer Directly
If you are unable to determine the origin of a given item through any other means, contacting the company’s customer service team may yield more information.
They should be able to tell you exactly where the product was made, and may even be able to give you a direct link to that information on their website.

The best way to reach Le Creuset is by emailing them. Below are the contact details for email and direct mail.

Awards and Certifications
Check for local certifications or awards on the product itself. Just as many manufacturers choose to denote where their products were made, others may opt to highlight other kinds of company achievements.
For example, environmental certification by an organization like Fair Trade USA or Green America. While these can be a bit harder to identify than simply looking for a “Made in” label, these can be good indications of where the product was made.

Le Creuset: The Brand
Le Creuset is a French brand that has been around since 1925 and was founded by two brothers named André and Armand Desaegher in a small village called Fresnoy-le-Grand near Paris, France.
The brothers were able to produce cast-iron cooking ware at an affordable price due to their understanding of casting technology from manufacturing guns for World War I.
André Desaegher had been working as a metallurgist during WWI where he researched ways to improve gun barrels by developing new alloys that would hold up under high temperatures better than traditional iron or steel.
Over the years since 1925, when the first iron pot (French Oven) was poured, Le Creuset has been making cookware that’s made from cast iron, aluminum, and stainless steel.
Today the company still operates manufacturing facilities and it is estimated that there are over 500 Le Creuset stores across the world today! As you can see, Le Creuset’s roots date back almost 100 years!
Manufacturing cast iron cookware for over 40 years has cemented this brand of premium cast iron cookware in the industry. The company’s products are made using unique manufacturing processes that include breaking every mold so two pieces are identical and inspecting and reinspecting every piece dozens of times before arriving to you.
Results? Extremely durable cookware that can withstand years of use.
Le Creuset’s products are known for their exceptional quality and durability, and the company’s cast iron pots and pans are used by some of the world’s most famous chefs.
