Definition of Made in the USA

100% Made in the USA – made from materials sourced in the USA. Manufacturing and assembly are carried out in the USA.

Made in the USA – made from globally and/or locally sourced materials. Manufacturing, and/or assembly are carried out in the USA.

How to Find Out Where Heritage Steel Cookware is Made

Finding the location of a product’s manufacturing can be challenging. But it is not impossible! Below are a few tips to help you locate the exact factory where a given item was made.

1. Start With the Company Website

Larger companies will list the ‘Country of Origin’ or ‘Made in’ locations on their corporate websites. Many specialized manufacturers make this information publicly available within their product listings. The above Heritage Steel product listing clearly states that the pan is made in the USA of domestic and imported materials.

2. Labels and Tags

Look for locally-made labels or tags on the product itself or on its packaging. Such as in Italy, France, the United States, Canada, Mexico, etc. This may make it easier to find out where a product was made based on its country of origin.

3. Embossing or Company Logo

Many manufacturers choose to list where the product was made directly onto the item itself.

4. Contact the Company Directly

If you are unable to determine the origin of a given item through any other means, contacting the company’s customer service team may yield more information.

They should be able to tell you exactly where the product was made, and may even be able to give you a direct link to that information on their website.

Contact Information Heritage Steel

The best way to reach Heritage Steel is by emailing them. Below are the contact details for email and direct mail.

5. Awards and Certifications

Check for local certifications or awards on the product itself. Just as many manufacturers choose to denote where their products were made, others may opt to highlight other kinds of company achievements.

For example environmental certification by an organization like Fair Trade USA or Green America. While these can be a bit harder to identify than simply looking for a “Made in” label, these can be good indications of where the product was made.

6. Contact the Manufacturer Directly

There are instances where you can not get information from the ‘Brand’ itself as there a 3rd party may manufacture the product.

If you are unable to determine the country of origin of a given item through any other means, contacting the company’s customer service team and asking for the manufacturer’s contact details may yield more information.

The 3rd party should be able to tell you exactly where the product was made, and may even be able to give you a direct link to that information from their own website.

Who Owns Heritage Steel Cookware?

The Heritage Steel brand is a family-owned company and was founded over 60 years ago by Donald Henn.

Heritage Steel: The Brand

Heritage Steel manufactures cookware in Clarksville, TN since Donald Henn founded the company and built a partnership with the Vollrath Company.

Donald Henn purchased the consumer cookware division of Vollrath and New Era Cookware Company, and DBA Heritage Steel was born.

Heritage Steel Cookware and Hammer Stahl Cutlery were introduced to the retail chain in 2015. 60 years on and the manufacturing and cookware distribution business lives on. Their local loyal support network includes employees that have worked with the company for more than 20 years.

Heritage Steel products are made in the USA with materials sourced worldwide. While other kitchen products and the Hammer Stahl Cutlery range are made outside the USA.

Heritage Steels pans are made from titanium-strengthened stainless steel, the fancy name is 316Ti. It is extremely non-reactive due to the product being 20 times more corrosion-resistant than 304 steel.

It is also 5-Ply meaning there are five layers of materials for performance and durability. The layers consist of layers of aluminum for heat responsiveness, titanium for strength, and 439 stainless exteriors for protection from corrosion.

Heritage Steel pans also have innovative hollow handles that stay cool when cooking on a stovetop.

Extremely sharp Hammer Stahl knives emulate the time-honored tradition of German knife-making. The knives are manufactured in Germany from X50CrMoV15 stainless steel forged and tempered.

The knives then head to China where they are finished, by hand, with Pakkawood handles. Each piece is fully inspected before packaging and shipping to you!

Heritage Steel Cookware has a lifetime warranty against flaws from the manufacturing process. If you care for this cookware you will have it for your lifetime.
